Description

Our Construction 101 for Insurance Adjusters Course was created specifically for adjusters by a veteran adjuster who started with no experience in building or restoration. It’s the course he wished he’d been able to take before starting his claims career.

An insurance adjuster must be able to accurately review damages and create an estimate to make the policyholder “whole” again. But how do you do that if you’ve never been in construction, built a house, or worked in the industry? Our Construction 101 course will teach you the most common terms and materials used in construction so you can hit the ground running on your claims.

Xactimate and other estimating software can do a lot of the work for you, but only if you know how to give it the right information. That’s where this course can help. We’ll cover:

  • Quantity of Materials
  • Types of Material
  • Grade of Material
  • Construction Process
    • What trades will be needed?
    • What is the order of the process?
    • How much debris will be created?
    • How much will the permits cost?
    • What building code(s) apply?
  • Roofing
    • Overview assessment
    • 6-point inspection process
    • Safety & ascension
