  5. Submit an application through MyProfile. Applicants concerned with criminal background questions on the application can view a list of Disqualifying Crimes provided by the state
  6. Check to see if your 6-20 license has been issued by logging into MyProfile. (It’s important to note that once you receive and appoint this license, you can work as an independent or staff adjuster. To get your public adjuster license, continue with the following steps.)
  7. After you receive your 6-20 license, you must be appointed by a public adjuster or public adjusting firm and apprentice under them for 6 months, or be appointed as an independent or staff adjuster for 6 months.
  8. During this apprenticeship period, you must have a $50,000 surety bond.
  9. After completing your public adjuster apprenticeship, you must take and pass the 3-20 Public Adjuster exam with PearsonVue.
  10. You will need a $50,000 surety bond to cover the license period.
  11. Only after you satisfy the apprenticeship requirements and successfully pass your 3-20 exam can you apply for the 3-20 Florida Public Adjuster License.
