    Some of the material is inaccurate.

    This course teaches as if all farm policies have the same lettering system, but this is either inaccurate (varies between insurance companies) or what is covered under the standardize letter is inaccurately listed in this course.

    I work as an IA and I have done a number of claims for Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance (Texas based company).

    Coverage A includes: the Dwelling, Other Private Structures that primarily serve the Dwelling.
    Coverage B includes: Personal Property (not other private structures as listed in this course)
    Coverage C is not personal property as listed in this course.
    Other letters are also not consistent with HPFM’s.

    This causes me to wonder how much other of the course content is inaccurate.

    I suggest that ya’ll reveiw the course material and confirm the accuracy and make sure the course material is up-to date for Texas.

    I do not like taking ethics classes in general because I do not care for peoples view of ethics. However, the history (beginning section) of this class seemed to have been very well studied and written. One of my favorite lines, “Don’t cut yourself off from the roots of the tree.” This is a reminder that God is the source of morality. Morality is not relative, but founded on Christ and it does not change. I was encouraged after the first section rather than discourage as I usally am after an ethics class.

    I was disappointed with the next section as it seemed to have been written from a more liberal view and the wording was not entirely accurate.

    It was annoying taking a mandatory quiz every 8-12 minutes. Either let them be optional or just one quiz at the end of the section.

Compliance

Texas resident adjusters and DHS license holders are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years. The 24 hours of continuing education must include 3 hours of Ethics.

Licenses renew every two years, on the last day of the licensee’s birthday month. Detailed CE information is available on the TDI Continuing Education FAQ page.

If you’ve had your license for less than a full two years, Texas has prorated CE requirements.

You cannot receive credit for any course more than once in any CE reporting period. Excess CE hours cannot be carried over into the next compliance cycle.
