Description
You’ve Got the License. Now Learn How to Build the Career.
Passing your licensing exam is an accomplishment. But once you’ve earned your license, a whole new set of questions begins.
Where do you find adjusting jobs? How do you get noticed by independent adjusting firms? What equipment do you actually need? And what happens when you’re assigned your first claim?
The Adjuster Success Method was created to answer those questions.
Developed by veteran adjusters John O’Brien and Peter Gaetano, this online course shares the practical lessons, industry knowledge, and proven processes they’ve developed from years of working daily and catastrophe claims.
It’s the career training many new adjusters don’t realize they need until they’re trying to find work or manage their first assignments.
What You’ll Learn
1. How to Find Work and Build Your Adjusting Career
Getting licensed doesn’t automatically lead to job offers. Learn how the independent adjusting industry works and what you can do to improve your chances of finding assignments.
You’ll learn how to:
-
- Identify adjusting opportunities and connect with independent adjusting firms.
- Build an effective application package and get noticed by recruiters.
- Understand daily claims versus catastrophe deployments.
- Read fee schedules and understand how independent adjusters get paid.
- Develop the professional relationships and reputation that can lead to future opportunities.
2. How to Prepare for the Job
Don’t waste money buying equipment you don’t need or arrive at your first assignment wondering what you forgot.
Learn which tools are essential, how to prepare your mobile workspace, and what to consider before heading into the field.
You’ll learn about:
-
- Must-have tools and equipment for new adjusters.
- Choosing and maintaining your adjusting toolkit.
- Important field safety practices.
- Preparing to work efficiently and professionally.
3. How to Handle Your First Claims
Knowing insurance terminology and understanding how to manage an actual claim are two very different things. Get an inside look at the claims-handling process, from receiving an assignment to completing your documentation and closing the claim.
You’ll learn how to:
-
- Contact policyholders and schedule inspections.
- Organize assignments and plan efficient inspection routes.
- Document damage and collect necessary information.
- Manage claim files, deadlines, and follow-up tasks.
- Follow a consistent workflow to complete and submit claims.
More Than Training: Practical Resources You Can Use
The Adjuster Success Method includes resources designed to help you put what you’ve learned into practice:
-
- An extensive list of independent adjusting firms.
- Claims-handling checklists.
- Roof scoping forms.
- A certificate of completion.
These are resources you can reference as you prepare for assignments and develop your own claims-handling process.
Learn From Adjusters Who Have Been There
John O’Brien and Peter Gaetano have worked with numerous independent adjusting firms and insurance carriers, handling daily and catastrophe claims across the country. They’ve experienced the challenges that new adjusters face, learned from their own mistakes, and developed practical methods for working more effectively.
The Adjuster Success Method brings that experience together in one straightforward course, so you can spend less time figuring everything out on your own.

The course was excellent. Only one improvement… create an outline for new adjusters to follow at our first few claims.

Even with a year and half of paid training as a non employee; this course still had a ton of extremely helpful information. This course, along with my 18 months of experience with staff, independent, and public adjusters; as well as insurance agents, General Contractors (CLASS A), engineers, and independent estimators, I feel more confident than ever.

To handle a high stress job like this where you have to assess damage, risk, observe your surroundings, and lastly deal with h/owners/general contractors call you upset due to miscommunication on their policy is HARD. This is a great lecture and guide to having a good “Moral” as well as litterally compass alongside you. Great Lesson for all adjusters; Staff, Independent, as well as Public. More Agents should check out the Roofing 101 Course too! Educate yourself in all perceptions/view points from everyone involved on a claim. I would say at least 10-12 people should be memo’d on a standard residential claim.
