Our Florida Certified Adjuster Pre-Licensing Course fulfills the first step in becoming a public adjuster: getting your Florida 6-20 license.

Florida adjusters must take an approved 40-hour pre-licensing course and pass the state’s insurance adjuster exam to get their license. Once you complete our course and pass the included exam, you are qualified to apply for your Florida 6-20 license. No additional testing or coursework is required. After fulfilling the additional public adjuster requirements, you can then move on to getting your 3-20 license.

Steps to Become a Florida Public Adjuster
  1. Pass the 6-20 state exam, or pass an approved alternate course like ours. Our Certified Adjuster Designation satisfies all the Florida Dept. of Financial Services requirements for getting your 6-20 license, including the exam requirement.
  2. Apply for the 6-20 Resident Adjuster License, including getting your fingerprints submitted.
  3. It’s important to note that once you receive and appoint this license, you can work as an independent or staff adjuster. To get your public adjuster license, continue with the following steps.
  4. After you receive your 6-20 license, you must be appointed by a public adjuster or public adjusting firm and apprentice under them for 6 months, or be appointed as an independent or staff adjuster for 6 months.
  5. During this apprenticeship period, you must have a $50,000 surety bond.
  6. After completing your apprenticeship, you must take and pass the 3-20 Public Adjuster exam with PearsonVue.
  7. You will need a $50,000 surety bond to cover the license period.
  8. Apply for the 3-20 Florida Public Adjuster License.

    I think the course was helpful overall. I think a few of the exercises though could perhaps be better tailored towards memorizing specific details but not overly complicated. For example, some of the fill in the blank exercises required too much recall that it was rather overwhelming and not necessarily helpful when first learning the information. So, some of the practice exercises could have been more basic.

    It was very informative but i think a bit to long. It would be nice to have recorded playback available considering the hectic nature of daily life. Its a big time commitment and well worth it but with all the chatter from other participants its difficult to stay focused.

    Very very boring. Before I signed up, I expected to see videos of teachers or images of some sort. I feel like I was just reading a textbook of definitions and what not and answering questions the whole time. Extremely boring.

    The stats and study algorithms aren’t quite as intuitive as could be; and, had been so, people may feel more comfortable and confident working with the program – instead of fearful of working against or, even worse, disengagement. This sadly is a likely resultant of real-time parameters being resourced which, until the recent past, were subject to the end users own devise as there was not hand-shake and peoples who worked off of desktop instals, CDROMs, etc didn’t engage with developers; and, developers previously had worked in advance in their own insulated sandbox and today the engagement is far more “rich” and foreign to some used to practicing in their own cubicles and sandboxes and dev environment(s).
