Florida adjusters must take an approved 40-hour pre-licensing course and pass the state’s insurance adjuster exam to get their license. Once you complete our course and pass the included exam, you are qualified to apply for your Florida 6-20 license. No additional testing or coursework is required. After fulfilling the additional public adjuster requirements, you can then move on to getting your 3-20 license.

Steps to Become a Florida Public Adjuster
  1. Pass the 6-20 state exam, or pass an approved alternate course like ours. Our Certified Adjuster Designation satisfies all the Florida Dept. of Financial Services requirements for getting your 6-20 license, including the exam requirement.
  2. Apply for the 6-20 Resident Adjuster License, including getting your fingerprints submitted.
  3. It’s important to note that once you receive and appoint this license, you can work as an independent or staff adjuster. To get your public adjuster license, continue with the following steps.
  4. After you receive your 6-20 license, you must be appointed by a public adjuster or public adjusting firm and apprentice under them for 6 months, or be appointed as an independent or staff adjuster for 6 months.
  5. During this apprenticeship period, you must have a $50,000 surety bond.
  6. After completing your apprenticeship, you must take and pass the 3-20 Public Adjuster exam with PearsonVue.
  7. You will need a $50,000 surety bond to cover the license period.
  8. Apply for the 3-20 Florida Public Adjuster License.

    It was very accessible. The regular quizzes and assessments, which immediately showed corrections with explanations, were very helpful. The narrators had good listenable voices. The course was thorough and straight-to-the-point. The final assessment was difficult but true to the course material. The study bank, flashcards, performance stats and additional tools made it easy to review things within the course without having to create my own entire system for studying the material. Great online course!

    I had technical issues on Microsoft Edge Browser. I was booted from the course a couple times and had to login back in and it didnt save my progress. it seemed after working 4 hours at a single time it kicked me out of my session. the issue was it didnt save my progress. Also, when i took practice exams it did not save my answers when i hit save and exit.

    Many times during this 40 hours of training and during the practice test and once during the final exam, the system kicked me out and made me sign back in and also add my personal code. Other than needing to sign in many times the training was very good and the test questions prepared me for the final exam.

    The course frequently required me to log back in or reauthenticate, which often caused me to have to go back through the same module again. It was frustrating. Also, I prefer the audio learning with the fast facts worksheet to reading the page as with the PAP modules.
