ARIZONA LICENSING & COMPLIANCE FAQS

  • What is the difference in the Total Package versus Essential?

Our Adjuster Essentials offers the single course you need for your state. For some states, it’s the required pre-licensing course and for others, it is an exam prep course. Either way, the essentials will prepare you to ace your state’s adjuster licensing exam.

The Total Adjuster Package includes your state’s exam prep or pre-licensing course as well as additional training to help prepare you for the job itself. Having this knowledge before you start will mean you can get hired and start closing claims (and making money!) faster.

    • Construction 101 covers how to determine and estimate the type, grade, and quantity of building materials, as well as the basics of the construction process and rooftop assessments and inspections. It was created by a veteran adjuster and is a great precursor to XM8 training.
    • The Xactimate Live Webinar will teach you how to work a claim from start to finish so you can hit the ground running when you get assigned those first claims.
    • Our Adjuster Success Method course is a new, one-of-a-kind career training webinar. It was created by veteran adjusters who wanted to share what they wished they’d known when they started – everything from how to find work, what tools you’ll need, how to adjust and inspect your first claim, and most importantly, how to set yourself up for a lasting and successful career.
  • How do I get my Arizona license using the Certified Adjuster Designation and exam exemption?

To obtain your Arizona adjuster license using the Certified Adjuster Designation, complete the following steps:

    1. Meet the basic Arizona Adjuster Licensing Requirements

    • Be at least 18 years of age
    • P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used for either residence or business address

    2. Complete the Arizona Certified Adjuster Designation Course with state exam through AdjusterPro

    • Includes 40-hour course
    • 100-question proctored exam

Once you complete our Certified Adjuster Course and pass the included exam, you are ready to apply for your license. No additional coursework or testing is required since the designation gives you a state exam exemption.

    3. Process and submit Fingerprints electronically through Fieldprint. After you register, you will receive an email providing your registration number.

    • Enter the insurance code on the application: INS-055.A

    4. Apply for your license via paper application. At this time, only paper applications are accepted when using the exam exemption through the Certified Adjuster Designation. To apply, submit the following:

    • NAIC AZ Paper Application
    • Designation Course Completion Certificate & Association Membership Letter (will be emailed to you upon completion)

In the “Jurisdiction and Type of License” section, you will check the box marked O for other and type in adjuster. You do not need to specify a line of authority for an adjuster license. Instructions on where and how to submit your application are included in the application document linked above.

    5. Check to see if your license has been issued at SBS.

  • How do I maintain my Arizona license with the Certified Adjuster Designation?

Once you complete your Certified Adjuster training and exam you are granted membership into the Association of Certified Adjusters and can apply for your Arizona adjuster license. To keep your adjuster license in good standing, you must maintain and renew your association membership.

To renew your membership in the Association of Certified Adjusters, you must complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years and submit an application to us for renewal. CE hours completed for another state, such as those needed for a reciprocal license, can count towards your Certified Adjuster requirements.

    ARIZONA CONTINUING EDUCATION

If you took Arizona CE courses with AdjusterPro to meet your CE requirement, you simply need to submit an Association Renewal application to us to renew your membership. Remember, that is what the state will be verifying to keep your adjuster license active. AdjusterPro will then send you an Association Renewal confirmation letter. You then include that with your license renewal application to the state.

    OTHER STATE CONTINUING EDUCATION

If you took another state’s CE courses, perhaps to meet a reciprocal license requirement, these can count towards the CE hours required to renew your association membership. Once you’ve completed the 24 hours of CE required, you must submit an Association Renewal application to us, along with a copy of your CE transcript, to renew your membership. We’ll send you an Association Renewal confirmation letter once your transcript has been verified. Then you can submit your renewal application to the state along with the renewal confirmation letter from AdjusterPro.

  • How do I get an Arizona Adjuster License using Exam Prep course?

There are two ways to get your Arizona insurance adjuster license.

    1. You can take an exam prep course with AdjusterPro, take the state exam through a testing provider, and then apply for your license.

    2. You can obtain our Certified Adjuster Designation and skip the state exam.

To get your license using option 1, complete the steps below. Information on how to get your license via designation is available at Arizona Certified Adjuster Designation.

    1. Meet the basic Arizona Adjuster Licensing Requirements

    • Be at least 18 years old

    2. While Arizona does not require a pre-licensing course, we recommend completing AdjusterPro’s Arizona Adjuster Exam Prep Course to ensure passing the state exam

    3. Register for and pass the Arizona State Exam

    • Register online with Prometric Arizona
When asked to select a pre-licensing provider from the drop-down menu, select 99999 Other (because pre-licensing is not required for this license).
    • The exam name is 13-36 Insurance Claims Adjuster

    4. Process and submit Fingerprints through Fieldprint. After you register, you will receive an email providing your
    registration number.

    • Enter the insurance code on the application:  INS-055.A

    5. Submit application through NIPR

    • Enter the fingerprint registration number provided by Fieldprint. When entering this number into the application, add AZDPS to the beginning, and 5 zero’s to the end, so if your appointment # is 12345678 you would enter AZDPS123467800000.

    6. Check to see if your license has been issued at SBS

See additional licensing details, including nonresident information, on the ADI website. Or read complete licensing and compliance instructions in our How to Become an Insurance Adjuster in Arizona article.

  • What does reciprocity look like for Arizona?

Arizona grants reciprocal licenses to adjusters who are licensed in their home state. To see what states will offer reciprocal licensing privileges to Arizona adjusters, visit our Arizona Reciprocity Map.

“Adjuster Pro has been such a helpful tool to me in getting my independent adjusters licenses. As a brand-new adjuster with Empathy Claims, I did not know what to expect from online learning and I have to say I was in GREAT hands from start to finish in my Arizona course. I always felt supported both by the material and the amazing staff at Adjuster Pro.

The new Arizona course is an awesome addition to the course offerings. It provided me with all the comforts I’ve come to expect from the Adjuster Pro course room and as an added bonus I was able to take my final exam right in the course room instead of scheduling with a 3rd party as AZ required previously! I was able to pass my exams on the first try! Thanks, Adjuster Pro!
