Claims Adjusting – Sizing up the Opportunity

Posted on April 5, 2015

So, on the one side of the casino you have a game where the stakes are $120,000 and 4 years of your life for a 50% shot of a 50k job. On the other side, you can go to a table and stake $2,000 and 2 months of your life for a better shot of earning well north of $100,000. It was sad to see and my heart went out to that guy as I knew it took guts and some doing just to open up his own business. I'm a business owner and it pains me to see other business owners of obvious good will who are struggling.... read more

“The reason I enjoy CAT adjusting is simple: I like helping people resolve problems, which in my job usually takes the form of settling claims related to their homes,” says Seale. “I find it very rewarding to assist people in a time of need. “Here’s one example from my career: The Northridge Earthquake fractured a crude oil pipeline running through a neighborhood in San Fernando, Calif. The crude caught fire, seriously burned a man, charred 17 cars, and burned one house and its garage apartment to the ground. A number of homes also received fire and smoke damage. “The next morning, I arrived to a neighborhood..."... read more

Finding a Job as an Independent Claims Adjuster

Posted on April 13, 2011

If you’ve decided that you’re only taking a post with a six-figure salary handling lollipop residential property claims within 5 miles of your house in Harvey, North Dakota, you’re going to be a little frustrated by the lack of offers. Now, that’s an exaggeration, of course, but the reality is that many folks place far too many restrictions on what they’ll deign to do on their first assignment with the unfortunate consequence that they never receive a first assignment.
